What is Sedecordle?
Sedecordle is a free daily word game that plays like Wordle — except you’re solving sixteen puzzles at once. You get 21 guesses to find 16 different five-letter words, and every word you type is entered on all sixteen boards at the same time. The official site sums it up as “like wordle, but you solve 16 wordles at once.”
The sixteen answers are all different, so the puzzle is as much about reading sixteen sets of colored tiles as it is about vocabulary. A new puzzle goes live every day, and there’s nothing to install — it runs in a browser tab.
How to play: 16 boards, one guess
Type any valid five-letter word and press enter. That one guess goes to all sixteen boards — you don’t choose which board to play. Each board then colors its five tiles against its own answer:
- Green — the letter is in that board’s word, in the right spot.
- Yellow — the letter is in the word, but somewhere else.
- Grey — the letter isn’t in that word at all.
Because every board answers separately, one guess can tell you a letter is dead on one board and still alive on another. A good opening guess is one that splits the sixteen boards into as many different patterns as possible; after that, it’s triage — finish the boards you’ve nearly solved before the guesses run out.
The three modes: Sedecordle, Sedec-order and Savior
The official site runs three modes, each with a Daily game and a Practice run:
- Sedecordle — the original. All sixteen boards visible, 21 guesses, solve them in any order.
- Sedec-order — words have to be solved one at a time. Only one unsolved word is visible; solve it and the next board unlocks.
- Savior — the first four words are chosen for you before you start. It’s up to you to save the game.
Variations: 4- to 11-letter words
If sixteen five-letter words aren’t enough, the site’s Variations section lets you play all three modes with words of different lengths, from 4 to 11 letters. Longer words mean many more possibilities behind each guess, so expect a different puzzle rather than just a harder one. It’s the place to go once the daily starts to feel routine.
Is Sedecordle free? Daily and unlimited puzzles
Yes. The official site promises “a unique sedecordle every day and unlimited free puzzles.” You get one Daily puzzle that everyone plays, plus a Practice mode you can start as many times as you like. Nothing to install and nothing to pay. Your stats are kept in the browser you play in, so a new device starts fresh.
Where to play Sedecordle
Play it at sedecordle.com, the official site. The Daily game, Practice, Sedec-order, Savior and Variations all live there. The site also recommends Word500, “the Wordle for power players” — and Word500 recommends it back.
