Two boards, seven guesses
Dordle is the two-word puzzle by Guilherme S. Töws, who publishes games as zaratustra. In the original browser game, you have seven guesses to solve two five-letter words. A submitted word goes to both unsolved boards at once. Solving one leaves you with whatever guesses remain for the other.
Open the original Dordle on itch.io and choose Daily Dordle for the day’s puzzle or Free Dordle for a fresh round. This guide follows that version.
Read each board as its own puzzle
- Type a valid five-letter word and submit it once.
- Check both boards: green marks a correct position, yellow a letter elsewhere in that answer, and grey an unmatched letter.
- Use the two sets of clues to choose your next word.
- Enter both complete answers before the seven shared turns run out.
The same letter can be green on the left and grey on the right. A green tile only settles a position on that board. Repeated letters also need care: one yellow tile does not establish that the answer contains two copies of the letter.
Spend a guess where it helps both words
An opening word with several common letters gives you information on both boards. After that, count what you still need. If one answer is certain, entering it secures that board while testing its letters against the other. If neither is clear, an information-gathering word may be more useful than another narrow guess.
Keep the shared budget visible. With two unsolved boards and two guesses left, you need an answer on each turn. A speculative probe no longer leaves room to finish both. That pressure is the main change from single-board Wordle.
Dordle unlimited is already in the original
You do not need a separate clone for repeated play. The original menu includes Free Dordle, which lets you start fresh puzzles, alongside Daily Dordle. Unlimited means more rounds; the seven-guess limit still applies within each round.
Other sites advertise sequence modes and different allowances. Those are separate implementations; their rules should not be applied to the original two-board game.
Dordle answers, archives and tomorrow’s round
We do not publish today’s pair of answers. Finish the round in the game to see its result. If you are looking for an archive, do not confuse replaying an old dated puzzle with starting a random Free Dordle: they serve different purposes. The original menu we checked offers Daily and Free play; use Free for another round today.
From two words to sixteen
Quordle expands the idea to four words; Octordle takes it to eight. Sedecordle asks for sixteen with 21 shared guesses. For a different challenge, Word500 keeps one word and makes the clues less explicit, while Squareword connects words in a grid.
