Netflix has launched the debut trailer for its upcoming Onimusha anime, resulting from broadcast from November 2nd, 2023.
Directed by Takashi Miike (Audition, Ichi the Killer), Onimusha is an adaptation of Capcom’s dormant motion franchise, with the most recent title, a remaster of Onimusha: Warlords, launching again in 2018. The collection guarantees “life like motion” and boasts some really beautiful animation work.
In case you recognise the principle character, Miyamoto Musashi, do not be stunned. He is truly modeled after Toshiro Mifune, a legendary Japanese actor who starred in classics reminiscent of Seven Samurai, Rashomon, and Throne of Blood.
This is hoping the Onimusha collection can show its value alongside the astounding Castlevania collection and maybe give Capcom the nudge it wants to really reignite the franchise on console.
